O.k we've had some poor results against the lower teams so far this season. But we've also beaten two of the so called top four. I don't know why some people are shocked at the results! IMO it's the typical Villa that i've supported and watched for the majority of my life. Look at our squad and all the other teams in the division and personally I think we're performing as well in the league points total wise as i'd expect us to be at this stage of the the season. On the plus side we've only lost three games in the league, we're potentially three games from a trip to Wembley. So far this season i've seen us not play as well as we can so if we up our performances and have a good run between now and xmas could see us sitting pretty in the league come the new year. Most people on here predicted we'd finish between 5th and 10th and obviously with over half the season still remaining anything is possible. Keep positive people. Of course i'd love to finish 4th or higher but being realistic it's not going to happen. Even though everyone on here knows full well I don't like MON i can't see anyone else doing any better unless we break the bank!

Yep, excellent performance, and a reminder of what we are capable of when we are set up right (even if it was forced on MON), and the effort is there as a unit. Please 'keep in perspective' as you say, that we played a Bolton who put in (according to Megson) their worst shift in two seasons.

The big test for MON now is who he selects for Burnley, as he will be asking for trubs if he reverts to type and things don't work out.

lol Chrisupnorth wished ya were right though!!

SpookyUK, true that Bolton were poor but a 5-1 win in the premiership isn't easy against any side

True dat Peng, fair point. Either way though, we all agree we should be beating Bolton at home, even if the score was pretty emphatic, and im pleased about that (especially as it doesn't happen very often!).

The thing is I would be more happy with a one nil win at Burnley, than a 5-1 win at home against modest opposition, but thats just me I guess, I accept not everyone will agree with that.
