Following MON's selection last night, does anyone else think it's not worth Albrighton being in the squad right now? Surely he should be sent out on loan, at least until January - especially if MON isn't going to utilise him.
Despite the absence of Milner, he didn't get a look in yesterday, and if you consider Downing should be back, in a couple of months, he will be 5th choice winger behind Young, Milner, Downing, Heskey and/or Gabby.
I guess this is a rant rather than a thread as I would've loved to see him play a part yesterday, but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the lad. |

| Seems like an opportunity missed Canz and may be another indication of Martin's inability to manage a larger squad effectively. The recent trend in regard to his selection policy and tactical decisions is certainly cause for concern in the Chrisupnorth household currently. |

We do seem to be baffled every now and then. On Albrighton, specifically, I just wonder in what capacity he thinks he can use him if he can't even get a look in when Milner is injured. |

I suppose relatively inexperienced at this level MON would get ridiculed if he gambled with him! Perhaps we should of seen him in the Portsmouth game which we cruised - but can you sub your best player? I think not. Hence MON's reluctance to risk playing him perhaps.... _________________

few things to say here....
Who picks the team? MON
Who sees the players everyday? MON
Who is therefore best to judge if he should be played or not? MON
Basically this is just fans opinons on rumour of how good a player is and seeing him for a few hundred minutes max on a pitch mainly in friendlys _________________ The end is nigh! Aston Villa to be relegated this season, MON to be sacked, all the players will be sold and not replaced, the club will go bankrupt and close down......
THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS TO MY ATTENTION |

Other clubs blood their young players and Albrighton performed very well in the Peace Cup which was against not bad quality teams, so he has an ability at a higher level than the Reserves.
If MON doesn't think he can cut it yet in the Premiership, why not loan him out in a lower league and gain more experience. Personally, The best opportunity to date was Pompey and that was missed. Maybe if we could get a couple of goals up against Bolton, (I know, 2 goals in a match!!!), MON might bring him on, but then again probably not.
Some of these lads must wonder if their future is really at B6. _________________ Our horizons are limitless |

That is precisely my worry Boz as I can see the Cahill scenario being played out again.
We sell a quality player (Cahill) for nearly half what we pay to sign a player who is not as good (Davies) and then more than likely we will see the original player sold for 3x what we sold him for.
We stick Heskey or Gabby on the wing instead of a natural winger who has been on our books since he was 9 years old. FFS if he's not up to scratch we take him off and stick one of them on. Circumstances forced us to use Clarke against Fulham and he was outstanding - maybe there is a lesson there? _________________ Aston Villa, the home of Premier League football in the Midlands. |
