ExMidlander - people have there reservations about you.
We lost a game, so what??? Get over yourself. |
Ditto....
We can now win or draw a few games or whatever and when we lose again you can bring up another topic like this again to push your boring and stupid agenda....
YAWN!!!
Ps question still stands who would you replace him with....
Atkinson, Zola, Martinez, Strachan, and Pullis?
Or have you come up with a new name? _________________ The end is nigh! Aston Villa to be relegated this season, MON to be sacked, all the players will be sold and not replaced, the club will go bankrupt and close down......

Unfortunately, this thread is going exactly as Exmid wants. He just provokes the responses with his mindless comments and then sits back and no doubt thinks he's a great WUM.
He's best totally ignored, same as any thread he start should be. No responses, he's not achieved what he wants and he can go back in whatever cave he watches Villa matches from. _________________ Our horizons are limitless |

Paul; much as ExMid ticks me off, a change of manager is inevitable at some point, so debating a potential successor is valid in my mind.
As I've stated in a previous post, I believe we need a manager with proven experience in the world game if we're to have any chance of attracting the big name players and/or qualify for the CL. None on the list you have suggested come close to fitting that bill, but I'm sure there will be many candidates out there (both in and out of work) who would jump at the chance to take on a club like ours. How about Rijkaard or Ranieri for starters?
PS. I know you only mentioned these names to make a point about ExMid's ill considered approach to this matter. |

The truth is there is a large body of fans, myself included, who have their doubts about MON and I think that started, certainly for me at least, with the January transfer window and our cataclysmic decline in form in the back end of last season.
I think I said something on this forum over the summer along the lines of this season being critical and the club should take stock at the end of the season as to whether MON is the right manager to take us forward having had four years in charge and plenty of money. That is still my opinion but at the moment MON has my full support despite my reservations about certain things such as tactics and formations. Last time I checked I was neither an experienced football manager nor a qualified coach.
I think that is a pretty reasonable position which I believe is probably shared by many fans. I don't yet have a view on a possible successor, should one be needed, but given the size and the success of the club I don't see getting a high quality manager as a problem.
For example I would suspect Ranieri would jump at the chance and were we to change I think we should aim very high. The likes of Strachan and Martinez are not big enough names in my opinion.
As for this thread I agree its a total wind designed to cause trouble so no change there.
I like many posters will be at VP tomorrow to support the team and continue the roller coaster ride that is too often part and parcel of supporting Villa. Its never going to be easy and there are never any guarantees - try talking to a Liverpool fan at the moment _________________ Aston Villa, the home of Premier League football in the Midlands. |

One that is some really stupid management statements you made.
Two he not only played him but made him captain does that mean MON is still childish?
Three the Heskey situation is coming about because he ISNT playing

AB agree with your sentiments re Heskey, it has been my position from the day he arrived. However on the other hand I think perhaps many are going overboard on their views re Hokey Cokey.
Yes, he did play well yesterday, but this was because he played within his own capabilities. There were no aimless runs forward where at the end he outruns his football brain and give the ball away, no attempted 50/60 yards passes that go anywhere except to its intended target. No he broke up play, laid off the ball to his supporting players, of whom yesterday there were many, and did not try to do anything to fancy. Remember also that most of the time Bolton by-passed the midfield!
Dont kid ourselves that NRC is a world beater, he is a player that gives you an option to defend well, he is not the answer to our midfield problem.
As regards his spat with MON, he was never going to win, there can only be one boss and it is not him. Had he not been sanctioned as he was, what message would it have sent out to the other players and staff at the club, anarchy. Had this been Fergie rather than MON, there would have been more than a boot thrown in his direction. If he has learned his lesson, good, he can stay, if not bye bye Rio! |

I see Darren Ferguson, who, like Strachan, is such a top manager, is now available lol. |

For the record, i think M'on is one of the best managers we have had. He acts in a commendable fashion, creating respect for the club and its fans. He has also built a side that is proudly british (something that i for one appreciate)
He supports and develops the playing group getting the best out of them. I feel after the wilderness years of Ellis, M'on is the best manager we could get and a lot better IMO than Moyes, benitez, allardyce, mccarthy, etc. He is a winner as a player and manager.
where he drives me crazy is the way he does things and the decisions he makes, but to be honest thats the beauty of football. everyone has an opinion.
I love NRC as a player but if you cross the manager, you deserve what you get. If that ultimately means he goes, then i think its the villa's loss but the club proudly marches on.

Those were exactly my thoughts when I heard he'd been fired this morning! I hope exmid is writing to Randy about this. |
