Adriano. At Flamengo in Brazil. Yes he's a bit of a loose cannon, but that's why some of the top clubs aren't sniffing around so we could possibly be in with a good chance of signing him? He's made it no secret that he wishes to come back to Europe, preferably England or Spain and be given another chance. An abundance of power and strength as well as a sweet left foot. I wouldnt bother. He's big trouble and would disrupt the other players.
We will be going for lesser known names that other maybe wont go for just yet. (brucie went for Chuco when at Wigan)
In my opinion only this would be the best route instead of bringing in players who instantly think they are above everyone else.
Janko seems a good bet and remember AM has not ruled out returning for Emana. |

In short, "L'imperatore" (The Emperor) as he was known in Italy, is an inadequate waste of space!
He can't handle the big money and the big time. Too fond of partying, no self discipline and kept running for cover back to Brazil when the pressure was on. A potentially great player who had some great moments but let the side down too many times and therefore too much of a risk.
Better he stays in Brazil!

So what if he's a loose cannon or throws strops etc. Pennant was no angel off the field 'Le God' Dugarry threw his fair share of stop's while at us when he didn't get his own way on the pitch. Bowyer has had his fair share of problems off the pitch (and on it!!) It don't make a difference if the bloke throws a strop he will score goals that's the main thing and IF Eck could keep him under control...I think he'd be a great signing!! his strength etc. and ability in the air would provide Chucho with an almost perfect partner and a high profile one at that!!!
Only problem...How much would he cost? If we can afford to do that and sign the others wanted then, it would be a great shout for me....as long as 'Eck thinks he strong enough a character to keep him out of trouble etc. _________________ Football is my religion St. Andrews my church KRO & SOTV COME ON YOU BLUE BOYZ |

jesus we've all become phsyco analists on here lately aint we i think its a great shout give him another chance like we did with pennant, duggarry, bowyer, ferguson what a statement of intent that would be as for disharmony in the dressing room does that mean we never ever sign big name players to take te club forward for fear of upesetting the ones we have now that are'nt good enough |

Wasn't there some drug problems recently involving him, something to do with promoting cocaine?
If there is we would get slaughtered by the media and it would not send out the right messages to kids. |

What you have to bear in mind about Adriano is the fact that, at Inter, he became "Mr unreliable". If injured (and sometimes when he wasn't!) he would get himself off back to Brazil and then, when recalled, he would either be late or not turn up at all! This happened on several occasions making it difficult to assess his fitness levels and/or his psychological state of mind.
It's one thing to throw a strop, that's something immediate and can be got over. But when you just don't turn up for training or matches, that's quite another thing entirely. You don't need to be a psychoanalyst to work that one out.
On a more down-to-earth level, at least the climate in the north of Italy is more akin to what he might be used to in Brazil. What ever would he make of the Costa del Brum?
Forget him!
