I doubt I was the only Villa fan who had a little choke on their breakfast this morning having read the drivel coming out of Birmingham City and the grand plans for the future.
Of course we have heard this all before, but looking to Aston Villa as the rival they'll be looking to surpass is absolutely laughable, especially given the amount of League titles, FA Cups, League Cups and European trophies they'll have to win to get close. I have heard club chairman talk of five year plans before but for the Blue noses to surpass Villa; it is probably closer to fifty.
I know I shouldn't rain on their parade, to be honest most of their supporters will end up doing that for themselves, given their fickle nature and how they believe they have this divine right to be successful. I don't think I'll ever understand the thinking that a) they have a better tactical know how than McLeish or b) the very fact they are a Premier League club, after a year in the Championship, and they cannot sell out St Andrews for home games. It shows what kind of supporters they really are and why it will take more than a plea from the new owners to start buying tickets, to change the mindset of their unappreciative support. No doubt a few of them will return in the coming weeks, as that's what they do, but Carson Yeung will have his work cut out to pacify some of the club's delusional support. _________________

Lee, why do u feel the need to post a comment which generalises about just about everything to do with the Blues, has nothing to do with your own club and post it on an Aston Villa forum? _________________ 40m in Jan!!!! It hasnt sunk in yet! |

I think they're only thinking of things that people still alive can remember. _________________ still journeying on |

Lee SAD.
Firstly our board talk only of the future and you will find its twisted by journalists.
You will find its in relation to matching what you currently do and then want to surpass this.
It just dont sit right with you as you would prefer them to say we would like to emulate BOLTON. Or the current board who were delighted to have 17th as their aim.
All boards talk big on arrival after all your clubs plan is champions league in 5 years....
Trust me I am still laughing at that around 4 years in.
Everyone has big plans and dreams except for our previous owners who gave up on theirs after half of their tenure but decided to stick around and milk the cash cow for all its worth.
SO IF YOU DONT MIND WE ARE ENJOYING OURSELVES AT THE MOMENT _________________ AMBITION BORN 1993 DIED 2005 STILL AWAITING THE REBIRTH

Oh dear Lee. Pot kettle black have any meaning to you?
Even I wasn't born when your lot won 90% of their honours mate. Thinking about it, neither was my mom, and she turned 100 last January! _________________ There's people on the pitch, they think it's all over!.....It is now.

| Lads Lads Lads, leave LeeTilton alone, we all know he is a secret Bluenose... either that or he is fearing that this takeover could actually be a positive thing for BCFC |

Tilts, don't go there, Lee is a master at avoiding questions like that. _________________ There's people on the pitch, they think it's all over!.....It is now.

Aston Villa r 1 of the biggest, most successful and most decorated clubs in english football. They r an established premier league club who r usually challenging there or thereabouts for a european spot. They also have 1 of the best youth set-ups and 1 of the most famous stadiums in the country.
Birmingham City (aka small heath) are a small club with no history. They are doing well just to be in the same league as Villa and if they finish 17th this year that will be a fantastic season 4 them. Most there fans even admit they don't care about stayin up, there only bothered about what happens when they play Villa... And Villa still turned them over!!! Not 2 mention the last meeting at Villa Park.... 5-1 ring any bells.?
Blues should concentrate on competing with wolves and west brom, cuz Villa are simply to far ahead.
Up The Villa!!!! |

| Maybe Lee should be asking his US messiahs why they are over £70M in debt rather than question what our new owners are saying? At least Doug kept you in profit with the same end result - no trophies. |

"I remember having paid a pound for the football club and arriving the following day at the stadium and thinking whether I could get my pound back."
Birmingham chairman David Gold is quids in after selling the club to Carson Yeung. _________________
