There is little doubt that Wolves fans like me were happier with the draw at the weekend between Wolves and Aston Villa.

Having read the article somewaht sceptically I think the view on our central midfield pairing is interesting. There is a danger we Villa fans always wear the hair shirt on this point but its interesting to see a 'neutral' with pretty much the same view. And I think the overall view was pretty objective as it highlights the outstanding defence we have too.

Do we need to discus the thoughts of an opposition fan that are in line with our own. Yes we need something different in midfield, and a goal scorer up front. We having been saying as such for ages, finding such players, now that is far more difficult.

How about I turn the tables for the EM, Wolves, nice young lads, poor defensive back four, midfield outplayed for half an hour in second half, attack hardly had any shots on goal, if any, would not trouble a paper bag!

Will any Wolves fan care, no, they just carry on supporting their team and good luck to them.

Wembley57er

It's an article that you don't like. Big deal.

It's a valid opinion on Villa from an opposition viewpoint. Who cares what day it is written on.

And if you read it I am very critical of Wolves also, I am very aware of our limitations and the piece is not pro Wolves anti Viila at all.

Steve

Ah now I missed that one! Namely the article was written by our moderator.

Does the Mail not have Chinese Walls to cover this? Surely a Mod cannot be objective if posters criticise an honestly expressed opinion? Very Happy

By the way Wembley57er is one of the most articulate and informed posters to this forum and he expressed a viewpoint in a non confrontational, non abusive manner.

I was hardly hiding the fact seen as I posted it on here.

Wembley 57er is great and a very valued poster on here.

I only put the article on here as I thought you might be interested in my view.

If you aren't that's ok. You wouldn't be the first...

Wind your neck in and stop taking life too seriously.

Jeez.

It's an article that you don't like. Big deal.

What an appalling reply, especially from an administrator, "wind you kneck in" learned this reply from your journalistic degree at Oxford (Wis?) did you, try as I can cannot find this retort anywhere in the Complete Words of the Bard.

I dont take life seriously, but also I do not like wasting time reading an article that is out of date, is not informing any Villa fan of anything they dont realise already and seems to have been posted purely to encourage Villa fans to take umbrage, then to start insulting Wolves fans. Fortunately the greater majority on this forum will see through your mischief and wont rise to your bait.

Where do I say you are pro Wolves anti Villa, I dont. All I said was that as an article it may be OK in the EM, but as a posting on a Villa Forum it is and was a completely waste of time. My words re the Wolves were, their supporters would recognise it as such, tongue in cheek, and my final words in the paragraph may have given anyone doubting this a pretty good clue.

Did I say I did not like it, no - I hope you read your copy a lot closer than you seem to have read my remarks. I respect you as an administrator, you do seem to have cleaned up the site well, but remember that is what you are and it is not part of your brief to encourage or make insulting remarks, there are plenty out there that can do it unsolicited.

Carry on your good work as an administrator, we do appreciate it, but please respect the views of contributors who, on occasion, may disagree with your actions/words. Retorts as "winding knecks in" are not required nor apposite from your privileged position.

Wembley 57er

My sincerest apologies. No offence intended.

Was actually just having a larf. It was meant to be funny.

I can assure you my position is not privelleged - I am a Wolves fan.

Very Happy

If you see the need I will ban myself!

Keep up the good work yourself

PS

I don't expect you to agree with me.

It was my own opinion. And I am very rarely right about anything!

But haven't we had what you said we wouldn't have which is a discussion about it?

Fair comment, lets forget it, perhaps if I had not missed the putt on the 18th yesterday and lost the money I would not have reacted as I did.

What I said about the site clean up, well done keep up the good work. As regards being a Wolves fan, you have a great history and to be fair I probably really fell in love with the game due to your great Floodlit Televised Matches in the 50's, when little Johnny Hancocks in his size fours scored some great goals - great nights, great atmosphere in grey and white, perhaps your dad told you?
