Four out of five penalties saved over the course of the night. Is that a record? Lets not forget this is foreign player that MON pursued, got knocked back on, and went back and signed.

Its great we are through, I just hope we get a decent draw in the quarter finals!

I'm with you there Harry. It has been a very long time since I have sat through a two hour radio commentary, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll take Portsmouth or Blackburn in the next round.

Same here 57er. Just like the good old days of radio!! And it sounded like we were on the ropes towards the end but job done. Brilliant Brad jnr.

Woteva and Exmid must be gutted and will have to tear up their latest indepth analysis Laughing

I'm sure they'll come on saying Guzan dived too early, or he could've done better with the one he didin't save!!!!

Well done the Villa, and well done Guzan. MON has a decision to make for the game on Saturday now....

Well done Brad Guzan who must be putting pressure on Brad Friedel for the starting position.
Sounds like we battled well although the quality of passing was not good and again we only managed 2 shots on target in 120 minutes. However, we got through which is the main thing.
I would choose Blackburn or Pompey at home in the quarter finals. I wouldn't fancy Chelsea or Citeh or Spurs (away).

What a relief, I thought we were done for after that dodgy penalty was given. I was watching updates on SSN and I swear that twunt Paul Walsh wanted us to lose. He had to stop himself from celebrating when they got the pen and din't seem enthusistic about us going through at all. Maybe he just wanted to get out the studio and join his buddies.

In Guzan I think we have a very special keeper in the making especially after his heroics last night and in the peace cup. Also fair play to James Collins, seems like he contributed to another defiant defensive display and then stepped up to slot that all important penalty away.

I too think we should go 4-5-1 on Saturday. Its got to be a good time to play Everton after their third defeat in as many games and with their injury troubles.

Come on guys stop this drivel please. I dont care who started... you both keep replying. Anymore and you will both be on the naughty step! Cool

Great to have won and fair play to Guzan. It's good to know when Friedel retires we have a good player to replace him. Sounded like a very dull game and our toothless attack is starting to worry me.... Confused
