Nither do I. And infact although Cuellar has played very well, I do feel that Youngs extra pace will bring that little more when going forward.

Cuellar has played well but I do agree with the view that Luke Young may give us a few more options.

He has been great, no doubt about it, knows how to defend. MON likes four hardtough defenders across the backline first and foremost, attacking skill is optional but that is one of the main reasons why we are hard to beat.

Luke back in the groove will obviously improve the passing situation and will be great to see him back. Another sign how defensively sound we are now. (after going without a right back for two years Very Happy ). We have some great defenders.

And fingers still crossed for Freddie.

And Downing will also improve passing options soon enough.

And two stars for Xmas please.

Agree with all of the above. Though having performed well, Cuellar is still something of a square peg in a round hole at right back. Luke will provide that all important balance.

Cueller , is a 100 % 'hes passing is some times eratic , but he dont shirk hes responsibility. Obviously to have luke young back will help as thats hes position and best will in the world it aint carlos's , but ive got admit its getting better.

It is one of the main positives this season. Cuellar has fully adapted now to the EPL, which must have been difficult for hin coming out of the SPL. We now have a versatile player that covers well for three positions.

I do find it a shame that he will probably lose his place, not because he was not playing well and always giving 110% (RS would have loved him!), but because a refereee was more intent on evening up the teams, than watching the play!

It goes to show though that someone's misfortune can open up chances for others. I often wonder whether Collins was purchased as a back up, and had not Davis injured his shoulder whether he, and not Collins, would have been chosen to accompany Dunnm

The FA Will need to act fast if MON has appealed considering we have a game on Wed.

However I'd give him a rest anyhow- Beye and Young can play.

Hey Lee I know Carlos has shown great improvement but I really dont think we need Beye and Young to replace him, even the blind ref on Saturday might notice Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

BTW did not think you could contest/appeal two yellow cards sending off, may be wrong.

Surely you can? Why not? Is it 5 yellows that lead to a ban anyhow? So perhaps get one rescinded and his ban removed? I thought the FA have ultimate powers and it's their binding decision? Maybe I'm wrong.

Young hopefully will be ready - just seems a little dubious we haven't seen him for so long - especially when my colleague reported a bit of a bust up with him and MON in Marbella pre season.

When we signed Cuellar I was very pleased after seeing him play a massive part in taking Rangers to the UEFA Cup final. Last season he was a bit of a let down although I think 80 per cent fit for some of it and of course he was asked to adapt to the EPL while being played out of position for long spells.

This season he has returned to his form for Rangers and it's good to see we have a confident defender who can step in if Dunne or Colins are missing. But he lacks any ability going forward to be a right back and we've really missed Luke Young's energy going forward. One man's loss is another's gain, let's hope Luke can come back in the form he was in last season.

Lee thought I would check up re the appeal procedure, they say "In the case of a red card that was shown after two yellow cards, the player is dismissed and receives a one-match ban without the right to appeal, excluding mistaken identity."

So Cuellar is not allowed to appeal. by all accounts FIFA reckons such appeals would lead to admin nightmare!

Interesting.

Suppose that prevents the FA being swamped with Admin every Saturday night!

Anyhow - it's a good opportunity for us to utilise the 2 actual right backs we have at the club. Be interesting to see who MON puts out there!

It wouldn't surprise me if Milner is fit he drops him in there - can anyone else see this????

The Lord, er, sorry, MON works in mysterious ways! Wink

Milner at right-back, and Albrighton at right wing in a 4-5-1 wouldn't go down badly I suppose. I think most would prefer to see Luke back up and running though, and this would be an ideal time to get him back in the lineup.
